February 11th was my last day of school until the school year starts again on March 2nd. The great thing about working at a Public school is all the time you have off. So, I decided to book a last, last minute trip to Thailand for 6 days with a couple of friends. I flew out on the 16th to Bangkok, spent 3 days touring around on motorized tut tuts looking at the Golden Buddha, Marble Temples, the King's Temples and many, many other cool sites. Of course, during our tour on the tut tuts we were bombarded by people trying to get us to buy customized suits. Let me tell ya, it was a nice tour but it got a bit tiring. After 3 days in Thailand we took a 6 hour bus to Ko Chang beach where we were able to chill out with beers and soak in some sun before heading back to Seoul. Even though my stay in Ko Chang was short, I was able to go elephant trekking and the guy even let me sit on the elephant's head on the ride back. It was amazing! One of my favorite things about Thailand was the food, street pad thai, pancakes, pork balls, spring rolls, etc. My mouth is just drooling thinking about it. I miss Thailand and I'm definitely going back.

5 Day trip to Shanghai in January
After I got back from my vacation from Borocay, I had to work a 3 week camp. After that was over, I had a week off before having to go back to school, so I decided to book a trip to Shanghai, China for my boyfriend's birthday. We went for 5 days. We went to the Pearl Tower, the Aquarium, temples and different areas of the city. The one big thing to do in Shanghai was shopping! They have certain markets you can go to where you can find really good quality knock-offs for a really cheap. The vendor will give you a price and you can bargain up to 80% off the price they originally gave you. Let's just say, my boyfriend and I came back to Seoul with an extra duffle bag full of clothes and accessories...haha.
Did I mention how delicious the food was? They serve pancakes on the streets cooked with egg and roll it up with crispy strips and spread a delicious savoury sauce on it. The steamed dumplings were amazing as well, but you have to eat then carefully; biting the top off first, blowing on it, then pop them in your mouth.. Otherwise you'll end up biting into it and squirting someone across the room. Of course, I had to have the Chinese Dim Sum at an amazing restaurant where Forest Whitaker walked by our table and said hi to us. Bonus eh?

Boracay Island for Christmas Break
I'm sorry that I haven't had the chance to update my blog in a while. My computer at work doesn't allow me to update while I'm at work so I have to wait until I get home. By the time I get home I get pretty lazy.
So, I had 9 days off for Christmas break and I ended up going to Boracay Island in the Philippines with my boyfriend and a bunch of friends. It was the most beautiful beach I've ever been to, the water was is clear blue and the sand is a white cream colour, which is almost as smooth as baby powder. We went island hopping on a sailboat, fishing, snorkeling, ATV riding, motor biking and I even climbed my way into a bat cave where we spotted one of the most poisonous snakes in the world. (actually, we saw 5 of them and left the cave shortly after). This vacation was more of a relaxing one rather than a lot of touring.
